Ideas for Celebrating the New Year - Kid Style!

December 29, 2008

If you still like to party like it's 1999 on New Year's Eve, but don't want to be away from your kids, you can throw a house party! Some friends of ours throw a huge party every year. Four babysitters are hired for the night and the kids are all upstairs having their own fun, while the parents are downstairs whoopin?? it up. It's a great way to celebrate family-style and still have an adult good time!

If you'd prefer to skip the Evening activities, how about a Countdown to Noon on New Year's Day? You can have new year's crafts, fun foods, even record the ball dropping from the night before and do the countdown with the kids. It's a great way to teach them about a new year and have some fun doing it!

Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine is having a "Snowball Celebration" on New Year's Eve. They'll have karaoke, face painting, live shows, and crafts for all ages during the early evening.  If you're a guest of the lodge that evening, you'll be able to participate in a New Year's Eve Duck Race as well! There are also dancing and late night activities, including a midnight ball drop. Fun Stuff!

Best wishes to you and your families for a memorable, fun, and safe New Year's Eve!
